Summer is bloomin' out everywhere!

I came out of my house this morning way to church, and I noticed that my climbing rose bush is blooming, and one of my others is starting to bloom! It feels like I have been waiting forever for this. Buds have been on for a while, just taunting me!

Here are some other pics of the flowers I have planted so far. I was never much into gardening until we bought our house. As every year goes by, I get more and more into it. I have even gotten more into houseplants, they add color and life to our house. There is just something about getting your hands dirty, caring for something, and seeing it grow and bloom. It reminds you that 1) there is something going on bigger than the day to day details, and 2) we all need to slow down and care for something, or someone else. You will be surprised at the benefits you get in return. When I am having a rough day, I go out to my flower beds or planters, dig around, plant something, nurture something, and I feel better. I planted a couple of planters of herbs today, and I can't wait to see them sprout! Try it yourself, see what comes of it!

For knitting content, here is the hat I have in progress for my little friend L.Last but not least, graduation for my husband's high school is this weekend. Congrats Benton High School Class of 2008!
