Summer is bloomin' out everywhere!

I came out of my house this morning way to church, and I noticed that my climbing rose bush is blooming, and one of my others is starting to bloom! It feels like I have been waiting forever for this. Buds have been on for a while, just taunting me!

Here are some other pics of the flowers I have planted so far. I was never much into gardening until we bought our house. As every year goes by, I get more and more into it. I have even gotten more into houseplants, they add color and life to our house. There is just something about getting your hands dirty, caring for something, and seeing it grow and bloom. It reminds you that 1) there is something going on bigger than the day to day details, and 2) we all need to slow down and care for something, or someone else. You will be surprised at the benefits you get in return. When I am having a rough day, I go out to my flower beds or planters, dig around, plant something, nurture something, and I feel better. I planted a couple of planters of herbs today, and I can't wait to see them sprout! Try it yourself, see what comes of it!

For knitting content, here is the hat I have in progress for my little friend L.Last but not least, graduation for my husband's high school is this weekend. Congrats Benton High School Class of 2008!

Pics from my life

This is my first sock. I was so proud when I finished it. Knitting was something I wasn't sure I could do to begin with, but then to actually finish a sock....... I am sure there are others of you out there who know exactly what I am talking about.

This is my best friend, Sarah, and her son/my godson, B. He is soooooooooo cute. I am madly in love with him. And I made that hat, so this pic is super cool.

These are my babies, Frank and Boris. They definitely rule the roost.

It all started here. This is my husband, love of my life. I can't imaging being with anyone else.

So there you have it. The first of many insights into my life. These are the things I love and that are important to me. I'll check y'all later.

Well, Here Goes.....

Here is to my first post! I read so many knitting and other various blogs, that I guess I have been bitten. Here you will find ramblings and pictures of my life and passions. I love, love, LOVE to knit. I plan on posting updates on projects and purchases. I also love my cats and husband, so there will probably stuff about them on here, too. You can look forward to a post in the near future of pictures!
